Brothers of the Missouri Epsilon Chapter marked the past weekend with a momentous groundbreaking ceremony and Homecoming celebration!

Below is an account from Brother
Tom Hartnagel, who was Master of Ceremonies for the morning.
“We were met with a beautiful crisp morning with blue skies, fall colors and a large crowd of both Alumni and Undergraduates; along with parents, University dignitaries (including
President Smart) and other Deans and representatives. We were also joined by fraternity family such as
Rich & Sandy Neiman, with son
Steve Neiman and his wife and kids,
Jacob Kingdon from our General Headquarters and misc. members of other fraternities and sororities. We also, received a very special guest who joined a little late —
ART HODGE! (still quite the character).
We donned some nice hard hats (thanks to
Brian Kubik), grabbed a coffee and some shovels and took our spots next to some impressive signage/displays while local photographers captured these events on behalf of the chapter and University. Most impressive to me was the spontaneous and enthusiastic applause and cheers that rang out from the active chapter, who stood on the porch and steps, serving as an incredible backdrop for
why we’re doing what we’re doing.
Brothers
Pat Zimmerman and
Travis Webb shared personal stories about our mission and principles. I highlighted background around our campaign (touting our strong relationship with Amy Kanning and the team at Pennington & Co.), the uniqueness of our successful and diverse alumni, and unveiled where we stand in this campaign. Hard to believe that just two short years ago we were meeting to discuss the potential of this campaign – a campaign that is now underway and thriving. Check out this article from 2010, along with a few photos of that event http://missouriepsilon.com/alumni/
I was pleased to report that as of 4:53PM CST on Friday, October 26th we surpassed our $1M pledge goal, and in addition,
James Brandenburg received word of additional brothers coming forward throughout the weekend to offer their support of this incredible campaign. It was and is a truly a remarkable accomplishment that brother past and present can take great pride in achieving.
More details will follow about the construction plan, and next steps.
Cheers to an exciting construction process!
Yours in the Bond,
Tom Hartnagel
